Improving Life with Chlorine Dioxide Products

Why ProKure®?

ProKure® is a system of chlorine dioxide delivery products, designed to clean and restore confidence in spaces. Our products help respond to susceptible areas like natural or man-made disasters, hospitality, hospitals, schools, offices, and more. We strive to improve life by helping people rethink how they take and maintain control of their environments.

Products

Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2) is a powerful and proven chemistry for today’s restoration professional. ProKure® has harnessed this chemical into dry, ready-to-activate pouches for “just add water” product creation at the job site. This patented technology makes for easy use of ClO2 and saves you from the cost, energy, and waste tied to ready-to-use products in single-use plastic containers.

Accessories

We want your job to be easy, with a system of support and scalability behind each product. View our accessories and see how simple it is to tailor ProKure® products to your specific treatment type and size.

Sustainability

It’s time to rethink buying disinfection and deodorization products ready-to-use. “Ready-to-use” will almost always involve single-use plastic containers that end up in a landfill, or worse, after a job. ProKure® products come ready-to-activate, requiring only tap water for ClO2 liquid or gas creation at the job site. This approach means savings — in cost, energy, re-work, and waste. Meet the needs of today, and choose effective chemistry with reusable containers.

Why can’t I find ProKure® V on the EPS’s List N?

The EPA has published FAQs about disinfectants for use against SARS-CoV-2. The link to the FAQ page is: EPA SARS-COV-2 FAQ LIST

A common question is: I can’t tell if the product I’m interested in is on the list or not. Can you help me?

FAQ Answer: When purchasing a product, check if its EPA registration number is included on this list. If it is, you have a match and the product can be used against SARS-CoV-2. You can find this on the product label – just look for the EPA Reg. No. These products may be marketed and sold under different brand names, but if they have the same EPA registration number, they are the same product.

The primary products included on our list may have more recognizable brand names, but there are often “distributor products” that are identical to them.

Although distributor products frequently use different brand names, you can identify them by their three-part EPA Reg. No. The first two parts of the EPA Reg. No. match the primary product. The third set of numbers represents the Distributor ID number. For example, EPA Reg. No. 12345-12-2567 is a distributor product with an identical formulation and efficacy to the primary product with the EPA Reg. No. 12345-12. If EPA Reg. No. 12345-12 is on our list, you can buy EPA Reg. No. 12345-12-2567 and be confident you’re getting the same thing.

For ProKure® V, our ‘primary’ product (‘Performacide’) is on List N: Products with Emerging Viral Pathogens AND Human Coronavirus claims for use against SARS-CoV-2 (table below). Performacide’s EPA Reg. No. is 87508-3 and ProKure V’s EPA Reg. No. is 87508-3-89334. These products share the “the first two parts of the EPA Reg. No.”, which is how you can be confident of identical formulation, efficacy and that ProKure® V’s meets the EPA’s criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19.

Can you fog ProKure® V?

ProKure® V should be sprayed, mopped or sponged to disinfect all hard, non-porous surfaces. Full product label can be found here: EPA ProKure® V

Applying ProKure® V by fogging is not currently on the product label. Concerns about fogging include not providing enough dwell time for products to disinfect.

What is the shelf life of ProKure® in the packets?

ProKure® foil packets have a 2-year warranty and will work past that as long as the foil packet is not breached.

Is ProKure® V Organic or can you use it on food contact surfaces?

ProKure® V has received the coveted NSF International Certificate within the (D2) Category: a sanitizer on all surfaces not always requiring a rinse. Our NSF Certificate can be viewed here: NSF Certification

ProKure® V Liquid is OMRI Listed (Organic Materials Review Institute), which allows ProKure® V to be used in organic production or food processing and handling according to the USDA National Organic Program Regulations. I have attached a copy of our OMRI listing here: OMRI Certification

OMRI supports organic integrity by developing clear information and guidance about materials, so that producers know which products are appropriate for organic operations. OMRI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides an independent review of products, such as fertilizers, pest controls, livestock health care products, and numerous other inputs that are intended for use in certified organic production and processing. When companies apply, OMRI reviews their products against organic standards. Acceptable products are OMRI Listed® and appear on the OMRI Products Lists©. OMRI also provides technical support and training for professionals in the organic industry.

The NSF Certificate combined with ProKure® V’s existing OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) registration provides a clear statement of safety and effectiveness from two of the most trusted food safety & processing certificate organizations in the world.

Additional resources can be found: SDS ProKure® V Unreacted Pouch

How long does ProKure® V protect the surface after being applied?

ProKure® V does not make any claims on disinfecting a surface for prolonged periods of time after it has been contaminated. ProKure® V should be re-applied if there has been a chance for re-contamination.

Does ProKure® V leave a residue behind?

The ProKure® V liquid is a No Wipe, No Rinse, No Residue product. ProKure® V contains no phosphates, no carcinogens or poisonous residuals, does not chlorinate & naturally dissipates.

Does ProKure® V burn skin?

ProKure® V may aggravate pre-existing eye, skin, or respiratory conditions. However, when used at its disinfection concentration (100 PPM) it does not require PPE. Please review product labels before treatment.

Does ProKure® V damage fabrics?

ProKure® V is approved to deodorize colorfast carpet, carpet cushions, and other soft surface materials (See EPA Label). EPA ProKure® V

Always test ProKure® V in a hidden area to ensure colorfastness before application.

Can I use an electrostatic sprayer to apply ProKure® V?

Electrostatic sprayers have been previously defined as an electric sprayer. Recently, there has been increased interest in the application of antimicrobial disinfectants on List N via electrostatic spray given the need to disinfect large indoor spaces to reduce the risk of exposure to the virus that causes COVID-19. Electrostatic sprayers work by charging the antimicrobial liquid as it passes through a nozzle. The positively charged antimicrobial droplets are attracted to negatively charged environmental surfaces allowing for improved coverage on hard, non-porous environmental surfaces. (Source: https://www.epa.gov/pesticide-registration/expedited-review-adding-electrostatic-spray-application-directions-use).

EPA’s new guidance covers requests to add electrostatic spraying directions to both new and currently registered disinfectant products—including those on EPA’s List N:

Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2 — that require review under Pesticide Registration Improvement Act (PRIA). A disinfectant product’s safety and effectiveness may change based on how it is used. If a product’s label does not include disinfection directions for electrostatic spraying, EPA has not reviewed any data on whether the product is safe and effective when used by this method. (Source: https://www.epa.gov/newsreleases/epa-takes-action-help-americans-disinfect-indoor-spaces-efficiently-and-effectively)

This new guidance requires ProKure® V to list specific types of electrostatic sprayers listed on the EPA label. Currently, we do not have any approved electrostatic sprayers on our EPA label. However, we have started the testing process and will amend our label in accordance when approved.

Should ProKure® V be sprayed, mopped or sponged to disinfect all hard, non-porous surfaces?

Yes, it can be applied by sprayer, mop, sponge or microfibre cloth.

Currently, there are only three (3) disinfectants approved for application using electrostatic sprayer. All three are part of the Clorox family utilizing Clorox specific electrostatic sprayers.

Full product label can be found here – EPA ProKure® V

Is PPE required when using ProKure® V at the disinfection concentration through a pressurized sprayer?

When using a sprayer, PPE should be used for disinfection and deodorization. A NOISH/MHSA-approved respirator and googles should be worn for disinfection concentration (100 PPM). The same should be worn for deodorization concentration (500 PPM), in addition to protective gloves. Please read product labels before treatment or contact us.

Can ProKure® G be used in deodorization or ventilation systems?

Yes, if applicable, turn on air conditioning or ventilation system to circulate air if the system is solely for the space being treated. If not, turn off and close ducts. (Turn off lights.) Please see the ProKure® EPA label for full instructions. You can view it here: EPA ProKure® G
